My car accelerates fine in all gears but it simply won’t pass 4000rpm. It cuts in & out rapidly when attempting to pass 4k rpm & if you change gears it drives fine up until 4000rpm again.

I have searched high I low & cant find out why.

Please help!

 

I had an issue develop today that i cant figure out for the life of me either, its similiar. at 4200 rpm, my car stutters, then catches itself and revs through fine.. but there is simply no power, its like im driving with the AC on full blast and ive gt a lawnmower engine.

 

Apparently, the vtech wasn't kicking in because the oil level was low due to oil leak. after changing the oil i'm able to redline her now!

hey i just bought a 04 tsx and it wont pass the 4000 rpm it doesnt pass the rpm what can i try to do guys help

 

Does your CEL light come on when this happens?

 

Did you even read the thread? have you checked your oil level?? The OP clearly stated that he fixed his 4k RPM problem by making sure there is a sufficient amount of oil in the engine.

 

your car could be in limp mode -the computer doesn't allow the car to rev above a certian limit becasue something is wrong. should probably get it checked out.
