HID Install problems - Take a look if you would.

Ok I'm working on the install and I can't figure out what the problem is.
Here are pics of all the connections. I've tried both bulbs on both sides of the car. I have not tried the other ballast or wiring yet.

One thing I noticed is the stock bulb connection the red/black wires are on opposite sides of the connector. Is this correct? Do all the connections look correct? I figured they're pretty much impossible to get wrong as they're alternating male/female.

Anyway here are the images. Does anything look out of place?

Josh, you need to flip the plug around, so the red and black line up, it's called reversing the polarity

I knew I wasn't an idiot. Figured the red/black being reversed was what was fucking it up.

Here is the thing... the plug has the little tab that clicks in so it only fits the way I put it... I'll have to file that off I guess. It looks like it was assembled backwards... does that make sense?

Okay yea it was assembled backwards. I had to file off the tab and switch it around.

Also, yea I know my engine compartment is DIRTY gonna work on that.

same here
mine had tabs on both sides, so i chose a side and filed it off.
and then it didn't work,
so i forced the connector to plug in the other way into the ballast, even tho it didn't seem like that was the way it was supposed to go
but it worked fine after that, and so far so good as they've been running for a few months now
