Here's one I can't figure out

So I'm driving my 3.2 CL V6 between 35 and 45 mph...all of a sudden, seems as though tranny slips (won't take any gas and sounds like it's freewheeling).... I let off the gas and then reapply gas pedal, freewheeling stops and all is well....any ideas what this might be? Happens only at this speed and is sporadic. Feels and sounds like something disengages and is just spinning (car shudders while it's happening, also).

Took it to tranny mech and he tested, but couldn't find what it was (of course he was doing about 75 mph and couldn't recreate it) and he put the diagnosis machine on it. He said it wasn't tranny.

it's a 3.0 then. Sounds like the tranny is going. sorry man, but the slush boxes in the 3.0's don't have a long shelf life. It might hold out for a while, but start saving for a new tranny.
