Heads and rings redone, now a burning oil problem

About a month ago I took my car to the mechanic and had the heads, and rings redone in the engine... I was told the car would burn ALOT of oil for a while... It's been a month and I've drivin well over 1000 miles... The car is still burning oil like there's no tomorrow.. I'd say I have to put a quart in every two days. Talked to my mechanic and he said if it's still doing it by next week take it back in because there's obviously something wrong. Has anyone had this problem before? or have any idea why this is happening??

Thanks

incorrect installation of rings, could be upside down, incorrect overlapping, and/or wrong size. depending when it does it, like on coasting when you let off the throttle..? could indicate stem seals
