Welcome to the forums.

I moved your thread to the 1G CL Forum, which is more applicable to your car.

when I first got my 97 I had the same problem, it would move backwards just a click and stop but if I did it about a million times I could get it to go forward with ease. I started looking real close (because I couldn't get the seat out because I couldn't get to the front bolts) and found a red dice in the track, I removed that and it moves like a new one now

Edit: I just talked to my son, and I was wrong, it would go backwards but not forward, and I could not get to the back bolts. he remembers this because he couldn't get it to move up far enough to drive it himself after I moved it back in position for myself, either way there was a dice in the track and when it was removed it started working fine

any luck? could be the switch isn't engaging either, do you hear the motor when you press it back?

so i checked the track and nothing, everything looked good. It used to make a clicking noise and if i kept messing around with it, it would move back. now it doesn't make any noise.

well ; you my friend; are running out of options, still make a noise if you go forward? if not; seems like your motor is dead, diagnosing will be a pain in the ass..jumping wires and whatnot; but you dont have much options. Check the motor, hooking it up to a constant 12v, if it doesn't work= bad motor. if it does=switch.
