H22 Questions? Need Help!!
Hey I have a 1997 cl 2.2. I love the car and I was lucky enough to get it when I was 16. I really want to keep the car but it is running up to 170k miles. So I was thinking about dropping the H22 in there. I have heard from jdmcustoms that it is a hard swap that requires lots of cutting, time, and money while others have said that it is an easy swap that has very little hassle. SOMEBODY HELP!!!!!!!!!! What do I need to get this motor in there? what mounts? cutting? thanx for the help guys.
I'm no expert on the subject but as far as swaps go, dropping the H22a in the CL is very straightforward. Maybe the people at jdmcustoms are trying to get more money out of you or simply don't know that the CL is exactly like the accord. If you search this site for threads about the H22a swap, you'll find find a wealth of information on the subject.
actually from the research that I've done it bolts right in, but you have to go with a Prelude tranny mount, because it's shifted more to one way, plus it's beefier. The only expensive part is getting all of the parts!! But if you have the h22 I would prolly start building it up and than drop it in. Good luck
