electrical surges and power cutoff while driving

i was driving my car to school a few days ago and when i saw my speedometer turn off and drop to zero and then pop back to place as well as my radio, which reset itself and shot an error code at me. my car then proceeded to make a weird clicking noise and it sounded like it was coming from the fuse box or somewhere on the left side of the engine bay. my first thoughts are that the battery cables are bad and lost connection or are corroded but im jst guessing wildly. if you have a better idea im all yours.

I had a high pitched wine coming from the engine but I could not pin point where. One day in traffic I had no transmission in any gear. I turn the engine off and back on and got my transmission back and I no longer heard the wining noise and my amp meter read 0. The alternator was the cause of all the problems

Maybe it has to do with that ignition recall that Acura had for some of the CLs? I don't know the number of that recall, but you could call Acura customer service and see if that might have had anything to do with it. Just guessing.

alternator for sure. other possible but less probable causes: grounds and/or battery terminal corrosion

don't think it should be the battery since you should be able to unhook your battery with it cranked and it still stay cranked and run off the alternator, so I would get the alt checked out and if it wasn't that then I would look for the ground wires and make sure they are making a good connection. If not that then I would see about the switch thing because I know they will cause a car to shut off going down the road when they go bad. This is just a few things I would check. Did you see what code it flashed at you when this happened to see what it said?
