EGR Valve

ok so a week ago i take my car to my friends shop for an alignment and to check out the CEL that just came on. So up until an hour ago my car is running perfect, no high speed shaking and it feels really good and stable. The problem is that the CEL that i just had taken care of, just turned back on. The code was for a EGR Valve Malfunction caused by excess carbon build up. Now i have only put a 100 miles on the car since and the damn thing comes on again. What can i do if its the same code? Do I need a New EGR Valve, and how much is that gonna cost me. My friend said that it might be throwing codes because of my intake, and I told him that there's no way i'm taking it off the car because I love it. Just help me out here guys I'm gonna borrow a scan tool soon and find out what this code is but in the mean time, try to keep me from killing my car. Too much shit is breaking

call Acura, give them your vin and see if it has the open ended recall. I just had mine done under the recall/extended warranty.

well technically you dont even need your EGR. BUT you will still be throwing a code without it.

if for some reason the recall doesnt apply to you, which it should cause you have a 97, but anyway you can just clean out the egr ports yourself and reuse the old valve.

Don't get stressed over it, it's just an EGR valve. It's not a huge deal. Like ghost said you don't even need one and most people block them off anyways.
