ECT Sensor is broken

I broke the ECT sensor when I replaced my clutch and it's throwing a cel p0118. Will this cause the car not to start?

If not, what could the problem be?

ECU may compensate by selecting mixture based on air temperature or other input, but it should be replaced. I don't think car will be damaged by operating w/o ECT.

good luck

so I replaced the ect sensor back when this issue first occurred and everything was fine until now. I'm now getting a code P0117 - low input and the car idles at 1500rpm. Any ideas about what is going on here?

Low input suggests short in sensor, connector, or wiring.

good luck
