Disributor cap + rotor head chaged, where does the grommet go?

I installed new ignition wires, distributor cap, and rotor today and also cleaned my intake resonator which for some reason had maybe around 300 ml of h20. I have been getting low gas mileage lately from 20 mpg to around 14-15 mpg, 90% city driving with a 3.0 v6 engine. While I was changing the distributor cap + rotor, I could not figure out where the grommet (#8 in figure) goes into. Thanks in advance. Kindly mark the pic. I just left the old one in, wherever it was.

If you can't get one let me know i will try to see whats the deal

OK, thanks. I think i will just forget that part since I am not having any problems with my ignition, so far I noticed better acceleration and gas mileage. Maybe when I drop by an auto store I will look at that part and see where it goes.

Grommet should fill the window you see on the RH side of distributor. Unless it's split, you won't be able to fit around the wires that go through centerhole. The old one is probably still around your wires.

good luck
