Diagonal Tire Wear
Diagonal Tire Wear
Hey everyone, got a bit of an issue that I hope can be a quick fix.
Note: 2.3 CL, lowered: Neuspeed & KYB, rear-driver brake caliper replaced 3 months ago.
My rear driver side tire is experiencing diagonal tire wear (called "scalloping" according to Google). I took it out to get an alignment. It helped a little (definitely helped in the front end), but they didnt have to do anything to the rear... According to their read out, everything was in spec, even the toe. The camber was out of spec all around, because it is lowered, by about one degree (not a big issue though, just causes a little bit of cupping, easily overlooked).
I can also feel a very slight wobble at under 5 mph. It makes loud road noise/hum at 40 - 50 mph, and vibrates enough to shake the rear view mirror at 80+.
The strange thing is that the tire experiencing the scalloping has the camber off by two degrees (compared to the one degree camber offset experienced by every other tire on the car). It also looks like that area of the car is sagging slightly compared to the rest of the car, and it has been that way for a very long time.
Very strange issue, I know, so I want to take it in this weekend to get fixed. If anyone has experienced this and can pinpoint the issue, it would be greatly appreciated!
