I have a 99 3.0cl and I got my cel checked. 2 numbers came up

1- p0401-(EGR insufficient flow) what is the problem? I heard its something to do with clogging? Can I fix the problem myself? and does it need to be fix right away?
I called my local acura dealer to see if they can fix it and they said it will cost me around $1500.Is that a reasonable price to fix this? I heard it should cost only under 600 or less.

2- p1739(Automatic transaxle failure) what does this mean? and does it need to be fix right away?
