Broke weld while adjusting castor. Am I in trouble???
I had determined that my caster was off by measuring the distance from front rim to rear rim and it was out a quarter inch. I had read that by loosining the 4 bolts that hold the cradle in you could pry on the cradle and fix the caster. I was successful in bringing both sides even but when I was retorquing the bolts the weld on the nut inside the frame runner broke loose so I cant get one bolt tight enough as the nut just spins.
Does anyone know if the nut can be accessed by pulling up carpet perhaps or if there is some other entry point so I can weld it back up? I could just cut an access hole and weld it back up after the fact but that would be a last resort for obvious reaasons.

I don't really understand.
So you measured the distance from the front rim to the rear rim on each side of the car. There was a difference of 1/4 an inch when comparing the two sides. Then you figured your caster was off because of this, correct? This isn't a really accurate way to determine if your caster was off. Why didn't you take the car to an allignment shop and have them measure it? Oh well.
Now, what are you referring to when you say "cradle"? Don't know what you were prying on..

More background....
I have had the car aligned multiple times and it has always persisted in pulling to the right. The last guy that did it said the caster was was off on the right side but said it was not adjustable on the CL. He was wrong!!!
My "crude" measurements were just to enable me to get close. Anyhow I have already fixed that was actually a stripped nut. Dont ask how..
I am now measuring perfectly the same distance between each left and right rim. The pulling to the right is also significantly better although it still does pull slightly. At this point I will need another alignment and things should be perfect. By the way an alignment usually only corrects toe in even if caster and camber are way out they usually wont tell you.
No offense but thanks for the useless replies...
