Brakes are gone!!
1997 Acura 2.2 CL
So i brought my car in cause my brakes sounded like they are going to crap...so i find out that my back brakes dont even work anymore and my front brakes need rotors and pads...
They indicate that on the front brakes it cost more because you have to put on the rotors before the hub and bearings....they said I would not be able to do this in a home garage i would have to take it somewhere...this true?
backs need new callipers, rotors, and brakes...the backs not too hard to install if i have my car guy do it in his garage??
anyone know some good quality but cheaper headlights??

Replacing front rotors is not easy, but w/i capability of any determined Diy'r. Your "car guy" should know how to do this job.
I have found the easiest way is to remove the entire knuckle from the car and separate the bearing hub assy from the knuckle w/ two long bolts in the hub retainer. Use a hammer to hit the bolts and gradually drive the hub from knuckle. PM your email address and I'll send a pdf file of similar procedure for separating hub from knuckle.
You can also search my posts for additional details.
Recently replaced front rotors on 3 of my cars; 97 Acura CL, 97 Acura TL, 94 Honda Accord.
good luck
