AZ Clutch DIY used, gear selection issue...
I'm a "noob" here, but have used this as my solid reference since purchasing my 97 2.2 CL 5 spd last summer. Bought with a "tired" clutch, I drove it until it wouldn't drive out of my driveway. I parked it and prepped to install new disc with the DIY featured here. It's excellent btw...anyway, I had little issue getting along and now I've buttoned it all up. I had no clutch pressure at first, so I bled the slave cylinder and got it built up easily. I watched the slave as the pedal traveled and it seems to activate the fork or arm, fine. NOW THE ISSSUE is selecting the gears. Before removal of bad disc, it shifted butter, just slipped. Never grinded. Now new disc, refinished fly, and throwout, it won't shift into gear with clutch depressed. Now, I haven't filled tranny with fluid yet, it had some in it and needs a full change, just wanted to wait till I knew it was assembled right before I did it and the final tightening of the suspension bits. Everything went smooth, is there anything Im overlooking keeping shifter from selecting gears? I'm desperate, the car is sitting at my old rental house!
