All brake lights out.
All brake lights out.
Hello all. This evening I noticed that when I press my brake pedal down, none of my brake lights come on. Neither my left, nor right and the middle brake light inside come on. I checked the fuses and all the bulbs and wires and found no burned out bulbs nor any corroded or disconnected wires. Can anyone help me out here?
'99, 2.3 liter engine if that helps. Thanks!

You may have a defective or sticking brake light switch. It's connected to the dash near the brake pedal and switch closes (spring loaded) as soon as brake pedal is pressed. I've had this switch stick in closed position and brake lights will not work.
Note, the brake/automatic gear selection should also be inoperative (can't switch out of park w/o using the manual key release). If manual trans, this would not be an indicator.
I fixed this problem on my 97 Acura TL by spraying liberally w/ WD40 to free the sticking switch.
good luck

Texas Honda, I do have the problem of not being able to shift out of Park without the manual release. Thank you for the advice! I tried WD-40 but to no avail. Looks like I'm going to have to spring the dough for a replacement switch. Once again thanks for the help!
