Alarm suddenly keeps going off

Hello. I have a '98 CL, with about 172,000 miles. I have had this car for 6 years and in all that time the alarm has never gone off. Today it has gone off twice, and each time I go down there is no one anywhere around and there are no other cars near it. It is not a windy day or anything. Does anyone know what would cause this? I also don't care that much about the alarm working as the car is old and I have nothing of value in it, so given the choice would rather disconnect it than pay hundreds of dollars to have it fixed. Does anyone know of a way to disconnect it myself if it keeps going off? (it is standard factory security system, not aftermarket)? Thank you!!

All these guys here, and no one who can help? It just went off a 3rd time, now I am trying just leaving it unlocked, but that kind of sucks as a solution.

I couldn't find anything in the owners manual. I didn't see any fuses that you could remove to disable it.

its the battery in your key fob.. when mine started to go, if i was in range of my car it would go off all the time. Try removing the battery from the keyfob until you can get a replacement.

It's Sunday, you're not going to get a lot of responses today, especially not in 42 minutes.

Replace your keyfob battery, that's usually the most common reason.
