Acura cl 1998 power seats Help please

So I have a 1998 cl the power seats don't work. Everything works it goes up and down it reclines but it won't go back. It's stuck all the way up, and when I try to go back it makes a click sound and that's it. Now I got the seat unbolted lucky, most people have stuff in the tracks. But mine are clean and I'm really stuck. Is there a way to move it back manually, does anyone know a place I can go to fix it, or somewhere with a spare seat. Located in Georgia. Please please help, thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forums.

Since this is a topic/technical issue which will require replies and discussion, and not a "New Member Introduction", this thread has been moved to the model specific forum.

I have the same issue with mine and what i did to fix mine was take the control module off the box where the switch is on and clean it thoroughly alot of dust and moister in there causes issues, after wards my seat fixed, the only thing mine cannot do right now is slide forward and thats because of the z shape link box under the seat itself i think its bad cause when i apply power to the motor itself the seat works just fine so im on the hunt for this piece i know accords have them and other Honda and Acura vehicle as well just dont have time

Same issue

Hair, dirt, candy, food, etc. builds up in the tracks and will eventually overload the switch, sometimes heat damage, sometimes physical damage. Or the motors die.

My issue came from hair and food, it's so tightly wound up in the tracks I can't clean it without removing the seat, so it only moved forward originally, and the switch was inop.

I solved this, maybe with luck, by removing the plug going to the motor and breaking off the clip, and installing it upsidown, thus making forward backwards and vice versa. Not a fix, but a work around.
