I give up, the acura wins (98 cl power seat issue)
My 98 CL 3.0 power seat has gotten the best of me, and I am all out of ideas.
The drivers seat is stuck in the full forward position and will not move back. All other functions are working fine and have no issues.
The problem started when I moved the side seat latch to get access to the rear seats. The seat moved up without any issues, but would not move back upon moving the seat back to its normal position.
I have checked the fuses, wire connections, and seat tracks; and they all check out fine. I cannot remove the seat, because the seat is so far forward that I can't reach the front 2 bolts.
The motor that controls the front and back movement is obviously getting power, because when I try and move it the motor literally "jumps"
Any ideas?

Try looking at the front bottom of the seat, there is a crossbar between the 2 sides of the seat. I had an issue where the torsion spring inside the crossbar became dislodged on 1 side, and the seat would jump on 1 side, but wouldn't move the other side at all. If not, you might have a short somewhere in the power seat circuit.

mine wouldn't move when I first got it and I had a heck of a time trying to get it fixed. I went out there one day and looked and there was a red dice in the track stopping it from moving. I read that the acura seats will not move if they detect anything on the track. if it tries to move and hits anything that makes it like bind, it will stop so it from moving so it will not burn out the motor

LOL I have this exact same problem too! my seat is stuck in full backwards position, when i try to push it forward it makes a click noise but does not move. I don't think it's the motor because the seat can still be adjusted up and down. You guys think theres something stuck on the track?

I am having this problem with my 1999 RL, not getting the right answers so far by searching.
I have replaced the motor, and getting movement forward, but it won't slide back.
Is it the switch, relay, memory module, fuse?!
The WORST part is I cant drive the car period, its so far up the steering is on my thighs. Second is the damn front bolt to take the whole seat out is like torqued to infinity and it broke my 1/4-Inch Hex Drive to 3/8-Inch Socket Adapter.
I am suprised I can't find any answers on this, especially on Acurazine, let alone the RL forum. I am so fed up with it I want to just install a manual seat.
Anyway, I will post the solution once I find out...
