Just recently bought a 1999 CL with a few minor problems. The mechanic who sold it to me showed that the power seat would not move forward or backwards from the switch. All other seat functions worked. He then used cables connected to the battery and was able to move the seat forward and backwards by applying power directly to the motor and adjusted it to fit my position. We have gone to a Pick a Part and gotten a similar switched and taken the panel off and plugged the new one in. Still does not slide forward or back. So it seems that it's not the switch or the motor since I have seen it move forward and back and have replaced the switch. It seems to be a wiring problem. Any suggestions on how to proceed?

 

have you checked the fuse? just get a multimeter and you'll have to trace it.

 

Checked the fuses and they were both ok. Hard to find the wiring diagram for it online.
