I have a 1999 2.3 CL automatic.

my question is when you are looking into the engine compartment the trans is on your left. from the top of the trans 2 lines come down and run into the bottom of the radiator (the trans cooling lines).

which one of these is the return line that takes the cooled fluid back up into the trans from the radiator? the reason i ask is i would like to put an inline filter on it since in their infinite wisdom acura stuck the trans filter up in the trans to where you need to drop the trans to clean it.

i was told to put the inline filter on the return line. why does it matter which line you put the filter on?
