98 cl driver side door wont open
I am probably the first person to have this problem but i am completly out of ideas. this morning i wake up, and i cannot open my drivers side door from the outside. So i try from the inside and nothing. I climb over through the passenger door, and drive the car home. Then the fun begins. This would not be a super big problem if i could get the door open, because i could pull the panel off the car, and work on it. But since the door wont open i got creative. There is a little metal trim piece that is about where the bars run for opening and locking the door. I pulled that back, clips just popped out, and cut a little square so i could stick my hand into the door. with this opening i could move the 2 bars, the 1 for the lock, and the 1 for the door latch. I can feel the latch one, and that is working correctly. i can move it with my fingers, and the door handle inside the car opens, thus making me think its the lock thats no unlocking. I have tried unlocking from the bar, from my keyless entry, and from the key hole on the outside. The locking mechanism inside the door is covered by a little black piece of plastic, which i was going to try to break off, and move with my fingers, but i do not know if i will be able to do this. I have talked to 2 mechanics and they think it is the wierdest thing. I am about to cut a hole in the door from the outside, and rip the door off, and just try to find a new one in a junk yard or something. Anyone seen this before, or have any ideas? Ill try anything cause this is super annoying. Thanks in advance, Chris.

YO WTF... im having this same problem!!@#!#!@# ill take pics for you on tuesday when i see my mechanic...
When its in the unLocked position, the latch (inside/outside)works fine. But when its in the locked, it seems like something was holding back the latch...

My car the latch mechanism was stuck in the locked position. Only option really was to cut out the latch, or cut off the door. i cut out the latch and ordered a new one froma cura. it was like 95 dollars. I should have the part tuesday or wednesday, and hopefully it all works. Lemme know what you find out, it sucks right?
