When I start up my engine, the engine won't start and it rumbles and turns off. And sometimes it'll turn on but idling is shaky and I have to rev the gas to get it going. However, after trying it three times or so the car works and everything is fine. I've changed the spark plugs and pvc valve and it was working fine but after driving it around for a couple hours I tried starting it up again and it wouldn't start. So I have to restart the process. This problem is intermittent.

 

My car does the same thing. 1998 acura cl 3.0 141000 miles. It starts up perfectly when starting for the first time of the day however when i start it after driving for about a half hour or so (warm start) it does exactly what you say. I can wait til the starter catches and then rev the engine for about 10-30 seconds and it's fine. I think it's the egr port that needs to be cleaned.

 

I think I fixed it because it hasn't done for this for a good month. I changed the fuel filter in addition to the other ones in the first post and it's been working fine and no idle problems. Thanks!
