'97 3.0 CL transmission slip in stop and go traffic
I know there are a lot of transmission posts regarding the 1st CL's, but I haven;t seen one addressing the problem my wife's car is having. After driving for a while (30-45) minutes, and then getting stuck in stop and go traffic, the transmission slips out of gear and have difficulty staying in D4. She thinks she tried to put it in D3 but still slipped. The dealer couldn;t find anything and asked us to bring it back when the situation happened again. Tough to just simulate all that and get it to the dealer limping along. BVA in Santa Monicaa couldn't figure it out either. Anyone here experience this situation? No hard shifts or grinding, just slipping out probably due to a heat condition. Thanks

It happens to me but mostly on hot days. It seems like a heating issue because when I run it 40 minutes on a cool day nothing happens. When I take it out for trips at night nothing happens..
