Hey all,
I have a 97 3.0.When I set the alarm the only time the alarm goes off is when the passenger door opens.The alarm doesn't sound when the hood is open,trunk is open or when the driverside door is open, only when the passenger side door is open.Anyone have any ideas?

 

you mean when it goes off?

try arming your alarm while you're still in the car. wait a few seconds and unlock your door by the black lever, not the silver one. it should go off.

 

I've tried that.I arm the alarm while inside the car.I unlock the door form the inside with the lever on the door.The only time the alarm goes off is when the passenger door is opened.It doen't go off when the drivers door is opened, hood is opened or trunk just the passenger side.The car has no other electrical problems either.

Factory service manual doesn' really cover alarm troubleshooting either

Anyone else have any ideas??

 

im pretty sure it has a time delay of 1 minute before the alarm arms. try sitting in it for 1 whole minute and then unlocking the door. mine doesent go off when i open the trunk eather.

I figured it out the other day.
There is a 30 second delay before the alarm arms itself.
