1998 CL 2.3 Starting Problem
1998 CL 2.3 Starting Problem
My CL won't start. When I turned the ignition key, I only heard a "click". Nothing turned. I thought it was a battery so I replaced it, but it's not it. I suspect that this is something simple, like a fuse blown, so I checked all the fuses in the engine compartment. I found a few fuses near the break pedal (this CL is automatic). But I don't know which is which without the repair manual. Does anyone have the same problem?
Thanks, Vic

That was it. For the benefit of other people who might have this problem. I discovered the Starter issue by accident. I pushed the car out of the garage preparing to tow it to the repair shop.
And this moves the (worn) starter a little, enough to start without problem. I saved $50 towing cost and drove it to the repair shop, had the starter checked out - it's worn out after 120K. Had it replaced, and it runs like a champ again.
This car has treated me well. It hums softly and runs like a champ at 120K.
Best, Vic
