195K 2.2CL Problem again.....
There is a weired Whooping noise from the car when it run. It sounds very much like the brake, but we can almost be certain it is not. Since there are no wheels shaking during braking, and the sound is getting louder and louder as the speed goes up. Me and my friend both said it very much sounds like something from the transmission. My friend would say it is the differential and I really don't know. I am going to take it to the mechanic and see what is going on. I guess I am going to join the 2nd tranny club soon.

Is it coming frmo the front or rear? If it's the front it could be a torn CV axle boot or if it's the rear it could be a frozen caliper

It is coming from the front, and my friend said he can hear it from the center front of the car, that is scary, and I don't know how he could tell. But the sound becomes louder when I am turning while on the highway compare to travel straight on the highway.

if its like a screeching noise, most likely its the distributor. pop the hood and turn your car on. the distributor is on the side of your engine where the sparkplugs come from. if it is your distributor, you need to change it within the next few hundred miles... or you will be stuck somewhere when your car doesn't start. this COULD be the problem, but not exactly.

hmm... if its a whooping noise... does it happen when you turn the steering wheel? or happens all the time... if it makes a whooping noise when you turn your steering wheel... it could be powersteering fluid/pump is broken.

I took the car to my mechanics to see what is that noise. He said it is from wheel bearing. And he spend 2 hours today to try to take the rotor disc off from the front wheel. I believe now the 4 bolt are striped, there is no way that he could take that out. I am looking at replacing that whole part now.... and still don't know if this exactly is the problem or not. Anyway, this can't be done and put the wheel back on. It is the right front wheel. Now we fix nothing but making it worse. The noise is now sounds like two metal rubbing each other. and the wheel is pulling it to the right slightly.... I hope that he found the part we need on Monday and continue to work on it.
Thanks for everyone input and I will have to see if that is really the problem or not.
