Yeah where did you get the shifter from? I'd love to change out my auto shifter and throw a boot on there. Good idea! Hey was the install hard?

Padger: I got the shifter from http://www.turbocare.com.au/auto.html for a $100. the install process is very simple, theres only 2 screwes on the side that you need to take off.

the boot install is very easy with a 97 3.0. all you have to do is take the plastic ring arount the shift off. then the squeeze the shift boot on all sides.

Where did you get the Boot from? Is it just any old boot you can pick up anywhere (like from the dealer? or JCW?) Have you had any problems with the boot or the new shifter comming apart or falling off?? A friend of mine, his brother has an RL witht he same shifter and it dosnt even really fit on, it falls off all the time...

How does the boot and the shifter fit together, it seems like the boot would eather fall down from the shifter or cume up from the bottom and it dosnt seem that it would stay in place succure enough...how did you keep this from happening? Or does it still happen?

You can get any shift boot. just remove the trimming peice around it and stuff the bottom part of the shifter in. The shift boot never came off from the shifter. Its the most easiest thing to do.
