I haven't spoken to anyone who has run autox before, and was curious.
Ohh, yeah, it's tons of fun. You have to try it sometime. I did this event with NASA and I convinced them that my CL is an H-class (the slowest ones, non performance cars only). If I would've done it with the SCCA, I would've been in STS, where I wouldn't stand a chance with my setup (or even the car).
However, winning is just a side bonus, the main thing is to have fun and safely explore the limits of your car. Every driver should try it at least once. Depending on your region, it's only $10-$40 for the entire day.

Hehe, no, those are pointer cones... although I'd have to be pretty damn skilled to knock over every other cone like that.

The only license you need is your drivers license.
Helmets are provided if you don't have one. Preregister on the site because it fills up quickly. Events are almost always on Sundays from 7.30-4 or 5. Don't be one of those people that says they'll just come to watch, because it's boring to watch and you don't learn anything either.
And you pay ($40) when you show up.
Come race! We'll give you pointers, and they have instructors available to ride with you too (for free!).

Awesome! Finally, another CLer that's interested in more than just driving in a straight line or slamming their shit for the next show. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but turning while going fast is fun too.

You need 15 points to be bumped up a class, so you'll be fine. Currently, the CL-S is in E and the CL is in F... but I chatted with their tech guys & we all agree that they forgot about the 1st gen CL in the classifications, so the 2.2/2.3CL should be in H... although they classed the 94-97 Accord in G, but shh.
