Car Audio

SO here my dilemma:

I just bought a 97 Acura CL 3.0, and it comes with a BOSE system. I want to take the BOSE system out and put in my own head unit. Only problem is the guys at the Autosound shop said BOSE makes specific systems and for them to remove it and put in a new head unit I would have to by a converter and a whole mess of other stuff, he said it would come out to $150-$200 just to take out the BOSE system and install my own head unit. I'm puzzled? should i keep the BOSE system add a subwoofer and call it a day. Or should I install the head unit I have? Will the BOSE system have enough power so that the sub won't flood the sound? Does anyone know what watt output the stock BOSE system comes with ?

The head unit I have and am considering puttin in is a Sony Explode. that has 2 sides....

If anyone knows the answers to some of my questions please post your information and for everyone else your opinion is welcome please post it !
