ok., so im looking at spec's for our cars (all cl's , all years) and i notice dsomething very wierd and was wondering if anyone can answer this.
on all the cl's the wheel base is all the same 2715mm, k,
with the 2nd gen's lenght the same at 4877mm, no biggie,. k
well here's where im lost
with the 1st gen's, the 3.0 and the 2.3 share a 4830mm length but the 2.2 is 4mm shorter at 4826mm, ...?????
its not a dire question but things like this bug me and i cant explain it...???

also to boot the 2.2 weighs 3 kg's more than the 2.3....?????/// ppppffffff

My guess is the rotor over hub. Since the 2.3 is the same as the 3.0, but the 2.2 isn't, that's the only thing that makes sense to me

I would think, as a matter of just throwing it out there, that the amount of material and the dimensions used in the design and manufacture over a few years' time changed to attempt a " fine tune of the operating characteristics of the vehicle, e.g 2.2 weighs more than 2.3 probably because the block for the two have the same external dimensions, just different size bores, etc. Again, just sayin' . . .
