miles per tank?
I also got 200-220 miles all city which I divide it by number of gallons it took to refill the reservoir and usually get 18-20 mpg. Everything was stock back then, now I have 19" rims [27.5 lbs each vs 12-15lbs for stock wheel (16")], I get 14-15 miles per gallon. That's what I sacrifice to for looks. Anyway, when winter comes, these rims are headed to the basement.
I am lost with all you guys. I have seen 350 once and I thought I would be pushing the car to the gas station if I didn't stop. My drive is 70 miles per day cruising at 65 mph the whole way. I get an average of 28 mpg. If I ever saw 500 miles to a tank, I'd shit a brick. What could cause such low miles? I have a '97 CL 2.2 w/ a 4 speed Auto. No mods at all and I did a full tune-up at 100K, now I am at 188K but I can imagine a tune-up would increase my miles per tank by 150...
just want to bump this up. im getting about 260 miles per a fill (I dont ever let it get to E where the light is flashing), but this is all city driving in my 3.0. Highway driving my mileage goes up SIGNIFICANTLY. I've seafoamed, recent oil change...100k service was done about 17k miles ago. I drive like a granny, but I doubt my 18's are really helping my cause. However, I am a bit stymied why my mpg is so low. Could plugs/wires really make this much of a difference?
Any ideas? Gas is really eating up my wallet
