No expert but i doubt the tranny goes in two days without already being on the way out. Just know your not alone I'm on tranny #2. The 1700 to have it rebuilt hurt but that helps create more of an emotional attachment to the vehicle. I have felt two ways to look at it. 1 be mad and confused when you hear of an original tranny lasting xtra high mileage and 2 solace and appreciation in being a new member of the 2nd tranny club
my question is how much does a rebuilt tranny effect potential resale or trade in value?

Wondering how it shifts now with the new tranny? I'm in the original tranny club with 188000 but don't think I'll see 200 before having to rebuild. I get short shifts from first to second when lightly gassing it from a stop or if I give it slightly harder gas(not alot either) it will go to about 3.5k rpm and shift harder than it should into second. Thanks for any input.

The trannies are known to go bad, if you didn't know this before buying, then that's on you. 2500 still isn't bad, and now you have a brand new trans that should last a long time. Just baby it and keep up on changing the fluids
