High to Low?
High to Low?
Does anyone know how to make the high beam work by its self. without the low beam on. either swap the plug or run a switch.
SO basically, swap the high beams to be my low beams and my low beams to be my high beams.
let me know

Ditto. I've been wondering that for a little while myself..
The wire just barely don't reach to swap into the adjacent lamp; possibility of soldering an extra piece of wires to make them long enough to just swap??

yea. so basicaly, when i turn my lights on, i want the highs to turn on. but once i flip the switch, the lows will turn on. its is basically reversed. i think there is a way to it by taking a dremel and shaving the tab off inside the plugs. but idk. gotta look at it
unfortunately the housings for the high beam and low beam are not identical, so the bulbs will not just swap over from one to the other. if your talking about just swapping the harness from one bulb to the other i dont kno that may work. can i ask why guys want this?...u gotta consider other drivers here...having high beams on all the time isn't cool for oncoming traffic

I know Canadian versions have daylight running lights and from the photo's I have seen of them they use their high beams as the ones thats on when you crank the car. I have no idea how it works when you turn on the headlights at night though, maybe someone else can answer that question that actually has a Canadian version or someone that knows how it works

justnspace:I personally think it looks better with my fogs
.. maybe if they make a 9006 Bulb that fits into the high-beam harness aka a low-beam 9005? not sure how all that works
maybe im not understanding....
you want your highs to be on all the time, just for looks?
Good thing i dont live up north you inconsiderate bastid!
I already have a hard time down south with lifted trucks and non-projected HIDS

yea i got the idea from seeing a integra with them. the highs will work as the low beam. the primary lights. i have these really low yellow bulb in there. so basically it will run as a bootleg and rigged drl.

easiest way would be to extend the wires and swap them, I like the 9005 swap too, all you have to do is trim down the one tab and they swap right in

i saw i was needed in herefirst off let me say, and i'm surprised no one else has said it yet, this sounds like a dumb idea.
you realize what that does if you have your highbeams on with oncoming traffic and when you are following behind people?
you're going to blind everyone, and probably get pulled over by the cops...
now onto the part that relates to me having daytime running lights... daytime running lights are the highbeams on, but at only 50% power, as to not seriously annoy people during the day. even with them only at half power they are still really annoying at night if someone leaves theirs on, that is why when i switch to lowbeams at night the daytime running lights turn off
now if you modify the housing or figure out some other way so that it no longer shines light above where the lowbeams would shine, then that seems like a decent idea if you just want the look
wasn't there some sort of quad beam mod or something on here?
I was thinking the way the high beams were aimed was going to be a problem with their "bright" idea but wasn't sure so wasn't going to say anything. If this is correct just changing the bulbs isn't going to change the aim of the lights to where you are blinding everyone you are behind or coming towards you which would make this a dangerous idea in my opinion
Pretty sure the only diff is the high beam doesn't have the deflector that goes over the bulb and it's aimed higher. Take the lens apart switch the deflector to the inner side, add in some wire. Or hid kits come with wiring extender im sure you could get them somewhere(I attached a pic of some I have in my box of spare hid parts if a customer has any problems with a kit) and there u go. Prob the only proper way to do it.

Is it at all possible to mod the US headlights to act as the Canadian headlights?
I wouldn't mind having the high beams running at 50% as daylight running lights that switch off at night when I turn on the low beams.

^usually there is different wiring and sometimes a DRL module that you would need to control it.
As it's a little more complicated than just half power to those lights all the time, as they go off when low beams are on, and go off when e-brake is pulled up.
But i have no idea what it is for the CL, and usually only the info to be found on this kind of topic is when someone imports a car from the US to Canada, since we require DRLs on all cars here.
But i've never heard of someone importing a first gen CL.
Seems like a lot more trouble than it is worth IMO, and if you drove it around, people would keep telling you your high beams are on because not many people in the US know what DRLs are.

they sell universal DRL switches but I have never used them. These are supposed to work with any car and it turns off the DRL when you turn the headlights on as well, but its made to run the low beams and if hooked to highs the high beams would be 100% strength all the time not 50% like its supposed to be.
Edit: well looking at ebay here is a universal one that says it does reduce intensity of the lights http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/COLE-...Q5fAccessories

here is a DIY on this site for a TL but should work the same with the CL since this is a universal module https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/diy-installation-daytime-running-lights%2A%2A-detailed-pictures%2A%2A-3g-garage-g-067-a-596398/
