i need to change my stock muffler on my 97 cl what is the best exhaust or muffler for your money to give it a nice sound? dont want the lawnmower sound

 

this is hard for anyone but you to decide on...bc "sounding nice" is completely subjective. most people go with magnaflow...i have one and i think it sound "pretty nice"

 

I have a DC sport exhaust muffler for my CL. Its a fart can but sounds really sweet

 

I have a Magnaflow gives a deep muscle sound without the farting like most mufflers.

 

^, yup. i have a dynomax super turbo (turbo muffler) sounds great no flatulating cl..
a stocker is way to restrictive and quiet, a can or bottle is too open, loud and not restrictive enough, a high flow turbo muffler is perfect.
magnaflo, dynomax, flomaster all make great turbo muff's.

 

It depends what you have. Its hard to not get a raspy sound from the 2.3, much easier w/the 3.0 since the V6 provides more grunt. I had a magnaflow on my 1st 2.3CL and I currently have an Apex-i WS2 on my current 2.3 CL. Both were good, I like the Apex-i better though.

 

i concur, the 3.0 has more to work with in the sound department. best sounding v6 ive owned. a 4cyl. is very VERY hard to get to sound beefy, the only way is do up the internals and they sound good, let us not forget the cat, playing with that and the muffler you can get different sounds. anything 2.0 and up, with higher compression, cams, and b&b'd will sound good as far as 4cyl's go. i still cant decide if i should v-tech and tweak my 99' crv.... blah, blah, blah
