Quote: Just replace the fuel filter on a 3.0 yesterday along with distributor cap, ignition rotor, pcv valve and other easy things.

Should have probably done a DIY for at least the fuel filter but its not that hard. Hardest part is reaching the screws that hold the filter mounting bracket. Anyways if anyone needs some help just let me know.
Fuel filter wasn't hard at all. Well it was a giant pain for me because the oem replacement part I bought leaked out of both ends, but soon as I bought one that didn't work, it went right on there

It's a #74 bulb, you don't need to unscrew anything, just turn the bulb wire and pull it out.

U can't get the console off? or see the bulb in the shifter? If the shifter's exposed I can take a pic for u to see where it is, the console is a whole different issue

The console that the radio is in? or the piece around the shifter? The plate on the shifter doesn't need to come off

Just use the regular intake install diy, there's nothing special about the v2

hmm can you get to the bulb from here?
i was under the impression that the whole entire shifter had to come out to get to the bottom to change out the bulb.

The shifter plate doesn't have to come out, I already answered this question once

You need to remove the console piece, but not the shifter plate, you can get to the bulb once the console is out of the way, it's underneath. I think I'll just take a pic for you

YOu have to make your own projector lights, and there are plenty of writeups on here about how to do it

Has anyone removed the rear interior side panels, like the interior door panels, but by the rear seats? Are there any special tricks I should know before I try and possibly tear the panel off?

It's only 4 bolts, I believe there was an alternator replacement diy that told how to take it off, but it's 4 bolts and a wiring harness clip, not too hard, I had to take mine off to do my radiator

New headunit with factory Bose???
I did a few searches on installing new head units and have seen many people say they can either use the factory amp with a new head unit or bypass the bose amp very easily, but nobody ever explains how to do this. I found a few pictures of factory radio harness, but still dont see a wire to trigger the factory amp. So i suppose my question is how, if you can, how can you power the factory amp with a new head unit, or how can you easily bypass the factory amp with out running new wires to every speaker? maybe im just being lazy because i dont want to take my car apart for just a few wires, just looking for the easiest possible way or a shortcut

^really, i thought he didn't do it

Quote: all you need to do is buy the console.

you need the whole assembly though.

i however, did not do the swap.
^that was taken from Cheehos's Public Profile as response to when he asked Greg about the swap

here's a thread where Cheehos started to gather info about the swap but i don't think it's actually complete yet

i didn't spend a lot of time, i just remebered it from the time that Cheehos started his thread, thought i'd share it with you guys especially the link to the thread and the member Cheehos to see the replies from Greg that he wrote on Cheehos's public profile. If he did have the swap done, then atleast my info plus links will keep him from asking Greg (dragon084) the same questions that Cheehos did

btw when did i say that he didn't have it done? i just said what greg had replied to Cheehos with, and i wasn't proving it one way or another all i said is that's what i "thought"

Hmm, well I just wanted to know for sure if someone has, and if so, if there was much modification that needed done to fit it. It probly won't be easy to find a 98-99 manual trans console anyway, but if I did come across one for a good price I would buy it if it is interchangeable with mine. I'm a fan of the wood trim and I think it looks so much cleaner and classier than the 97's

shouldn't matter if it's manual or not, the console only has one square opening
