Debadging

I was debadging my car yesterday, i thought i would post a DIY on here since I couldn't find any. NO GHOSTS, guaranteed.

first of all, this is what you'll need. ALong with a credit card or something to scrap off excess glue.

You'll start off with this:

First off, use the blow dryer to heat up the badge as you use floss to peel it off.
After it is off, it should look like this:

Then use the credit card, or whatever you have to scrap off the excess glue. Once you get tired, apply GOO GONE and scrub to take off all the glue. This may take several applications, so keep scrubbing. After the glue is gone, it should look like this:

Now use the TUFF STUFF multipurpose foam cleaner to take off the GHOSTS. Spray the foam onto the ghost, then scrub scrub scrub. It should be gone after 2-3 sprays.

And this is your final product.

THey shouldnt hurt the paint as long as you dont leave it on there for too long, and Id clean it off with water, and then put some wax on afterward.

the goo gone will eat through the clear coat if left on for a long period, just need to use it on the glue only and wash it off as you go. The glue just sits on the paint, the key is to heat it up enough that it's pliable and will come up on it's own without the paint or clear coat coming with it, you also have to be careful how you scrape

None of those chemicals should hurt the paint. I did not wax those areas in the pictures i took. And i don't know how u can hate on those chrome trims. Looks good to me, especially after debadging. I acutally put those trims on to cover some defects in the corners, but turned out looking alright.

Not hating, just giving my opinion. I always say, it's your car, do what you want with it. Just giving feedback, IMO it looks out of place and doesn't fit the "style" of the CL. But if you like it, more power to you.

Hijacking other people's threads is a Especially in a DIY thread.

Go ask on Honda-Tech, they have J30 engines in Accords.

I can appreciate the unique approach you've taken with your car, and I've wanted to see more shots.

Good write-up though, I'll be saving this for a rainy afternoon.

Ok, weird question, but how difficult is it to put the badges back on? Like for the resale stock look...I'm assuming they sell glue tough enough to keep them back on there.
