YES... ANother CLS CAM THREAD!

Feel kinda dumb for this question but..

How would i find out the dimensions what the rear cam has to be machined to fit...i have everything just need to do the install...but wondering if anyone on here could make my life a little bit easier...or is that something that is custom and has to be done on the spot?

As far as I know, you just need one groove cut into them for the distributor, on the back of the cam, I have pics at home somewhere, but they've been posted on here before, did you SEARCH? Cocoa has posted this info several times

As for those dead links, you just have to add: v-6-p-e-r-f-o-r-m-a-n-c-e-.-n-e-t- to them in the begining. Acurazine has some sort of auto delete when it comes to saying certain key phrases that mentions they're competition sites.

Key in those words without the minus (-) signs. I only put those in because that's one way around that auto delete thing.

Anyways, to answer your question. You simply ship out that rear cam to have it machined. I believe it comes out to about $140 for the job and shipping.

Glad to see you're doing the cam install.

Yeap. In the link there's a thread about where to ship it out to. They'll know what to do. All they need is the cam, and they'll do the rest.

Here's where all the cams were sent to:

Phil Wood & Co
385 East Taylor Street Suite 110
San Jose, CA 95112

Please google them and get a phone number and make sure that company still exists by giving them a call. Also, PLEASE check out my first link by adding the phrase I told you, and go to about page 11 and take a look at what the rear cam looks like. Just want to make sure you send the right one, because A LOT of people sent the wrong one including myself because Acura boxed a couple of them wrong.

yeah..i was right...They do machining for bicycle parts lmao...They guy told me they have a full machine shop but you have to have the specifications and a drawing so the engineer could duplicate the specs you give them....

So I mean...its kinda a dead end for that place...but atleast that other thread gave good info..now the tough part is finding someone who will actually do the work... and know exactly what to do..

Wtf. Maybe I gave you the wrong info. I just went by the first shop mentioned in the cam swap thread, but I thought that was it. Maybe it was GT performance or something. Either way, I know I used the shop they mention over at v-6-p. It's a 14 page thread and I really dont feel like going through it. Go ahead and look through the thread with the link provided. Just use v-6-p-....etc... like I said.

Wait a minute, this is what it shows on v-6-p. I went ahead and went through it again.

Phil Wood & Co.
385 East Taylor Street, Suite 110
San Jose, Ca 95112

I don't know if maybe the shop moved or what. But they should know what to do. Tell them you're from v-6-p-. The guy that works there is a member over at v-6-p-. He's online name is "gme2001".

Talk to him again, or give me the number. I'll talk to them for you.

You know what. OR you can just take your distributor off, ship it with the cam, and tell them to machine it so that it fits the distributor. It's the only reason why it needs machining.

Just give me the number.

Ship it out, they know what to do. Go ahead and leave them your number when you ship it out. And your contact person is Garrett. He's the man who knows what to do. Turn around time is around 2 weeks.

Btw, anyone else interested in this, they have an extra rear cam already machined if you want to buy it.

I forgot to ask how much. Call them up and ask for Garrett only. (If he's not in nor available, just call back later or leave him a messege) Don't bother speaking with anyone else. Ask him how much, and whether to send the cam with a check or if it can be done over the phone.

When everyone was sending out their cams, they had us ship them out with the check in the box.
