If you had the pioneer one you could do what i did in my www...just pull the tray out and it fits right in....not sure about the roady though, i think its a bit bigger. I would get some velcro and stick it to the side of the console.

I couldnt put my magnetic antenna on the decklid because there is actually a crease on the center that will not allow good contact and it looks dumb off-center. I put mine right on the roof all the way back next to the rear window. In the same spot that the new Audis have theres. I ran my wires under the rubber window seal down into the trunk. Looks pretty nice except now I want one of the smaller antennas. Cant help you on the roady mount though, since mine runs into my Alpine 9815.

HEY, i got the 9815 with my XM. I had mine on the roof in the same place too, but it did look kinda ghey. SO i mounted it at the bottom of the windshield on the trunk, right in the middle. (Where the trunk meets the back window) Looks good, plus the spoiler hides it a little.

Yeah, thats where I originally wanted it but since its not flat right there (there is a crease) and my antenna is magnetic, it wouldnt stick good since it wouldnt lay flat. What antanna do you have?

are there smaller antenna's with the dual inputs for the alpine XM tuner? the only smaller ones I have seen are for the single input tuner boxes

Thanks for the insight... you're right about the crease in the trunk lid fizzle i totally didn't even think about that. maybe the roof would be better. look how small this new antenna is thohttp://www.xmradio.com/roady2/index.jsp for the roady2. 9722cl, what is the pioneer receiver like.. there are some that replace your deck and some like the roady that use a fm modulator and attach to your console someplace or whereever i guess

they dont "replace" your deck, Some HU's come XM ready, which means they have a Ai-Net Cable, and others are fm modulated. Its like having another source input, CD-->FM-->XM. The sound quality is much better when you use the XM ready HU. And really, the crease isn't that big, and it works out ok. Dealing with the crease is ok becuase it looks better there than on the roof.

my $.02

Yeah, I love my XM. I cant stand buying CDs anymore and I am able to hear a lot of the new music I never would of even thought of before now. The kickass thing about mine is - I bought my XM tuner off ebay and when I installed it, it was already activated. So I am not paying any monthly service right now Im sure one day it will just quit working and I will have to start paying for it, but it is so worth it. No commercials, and a huge variety of music

yea i use to run xm all the time and my alpine was XM ready, its alot better than having a bulky controller hanging there to. its great for traveling except when you go through mountains youll lose some signal

btw channels 80, 81, 83 and 150 own...codemy station is great for slow traffic days

Blitzsafe makes an XM antenna that is magnetic & very small. About 1.25"x1.25". On my Accord, I mounted it about 1/2" above the top of the rear window molding & tucked the cable into the rear window molding all the way down to the trunk. I've got the Pioneer hideaway unit, so it was mounted in the trunk. I haven't put it in the CL yet, since I have all my amps & subs & Premier H/U in my truck, so the XM is in it for now.

As for mounting the Roady, www.pro-fit-intl has a mount for cell phones in the '97 CL. I just ordered it, since there is no real good place to throw a cell phone in the '97. The '98 & up cars have the same console as my '95 Accord had & there was a nice pocket under the ash tray for a phone. Visit http://www.pro-fit-intl.com/Adobe/AC-56-97.pdf for a photo of the mount & the mounting instructions.

Good luck!
