WW Front Lip Question
I just ordered my WW lip yesterday and i was wondering if anyone painted theirs themselves. How hard can it be - just sand lightly, prime, paint, and clear coat. I have a garage for drying, so is this a really bad idea - i haven't done anything like this before but worse case if it turns out bad, I'll just get it done by a body shop anyway so i should give it a try, right?
also does 3m tape hold it or screws? does the original bumper piece come off? and i guess i'll need someone to help me put it on?
thnks (-:

i dont know if you should try and paint it yourself but the 3m tape holds it on very well but just incase i put 2 screws on each side of the wheel well. you dont need to take anything off the car! please dont do that all you do is just put the lip right on. and youll only need 1 other person to help you i did it myself so it should be hard at all. If you go to wingswest.com they have instructions on how to put it on.but just do what i said instead.

u could paint it if u want. its such a small piece. i painted all my oem lower moldings and they held up fine for last 2 years. it will take a beating on the front so a professional jpb with flex agents would be better.

If you dont have a sprayer I wouldnt try it. Unless you want it to look like shit, take it somewhere. You will be happy that you did in the end.

I would use the screws they sent you and the tape to install it. But first you must get it painted. I had mine done at a body shop and it came out flawless. If it's not a show car and you don't care about the good from far but far from good look try painting it in your garage

some around here in charlotte NC include "sherman williams" "dupont" and " ace truevalue"
here's a thought, maybe go to a body shop and have them mix you a good batch and it will be perfect paint mix and you will have a batch for backup in the future? couldn't cost more than 35-40 bucks.
