wow, i thought it would be faster (yet another 2.x vs 3.0 pissing contest)

so as i drive my 2.2 cl automatically, i noticed how slow it accelerates. the car feels sooooooo heavy and i think honda should of made the engine stronger for the cl..rather than just dumping in the exact accord engine with the same specs. my corolla feels faster off a launch from a stop than the cl..BUT i LOVE the interior...soo nice for a 9 years old car. i figure i should just drive it and just enjoy hte ride..no more racing for me.

umm, i guessing you drive an automatic cl, but still not quite sure how one would drive automatically???? And yeah, there arent that quick, gonna have to deal with that one

and lastly, you raced a corolla, thats like modding a pinto, why bother?

I must sadly dissagree... My first transmission was a burnt pile of It slipped, lagged, frantically shifted, slipped, you didn't know what it was going to do. Hell, it didn't know what it was going to do. By the end of its days, 4th gear didn't even work, and 3rd was getting so mushy that I barely made it to the shop. But now, definately smoke a 2.X, ALL DAY LONG.

Mine didn't slip at all... Did you baby it for the first 500 miles? If you hammered it the first day, you probably did some internal wearing that was unecessary.

Good luck.

'97 Prelude SI got me off the launch, but couldn't hang on the highway. I think it was more the driver's fault, but oh well, a kill is a kill.

2.x manuals have potential.
3.0 autos are what they are unless the tranny problem is addressed.

i think the 2.x will ROCK all the other cl and cls...on performance, weight and reliability.. HAHAHAH...

and yes, i know the auto 2.2 is damn slow since the car is so heavy..but as i said, im just gonna drive it as a commuter car, and enjoy the luxurious interior and let other ppl admire my car.
