Is it worth swapping h22 tranny?

Just wondering if it's worth the trouble of swapping my F tranny for a H22 one? The n00b guide it's know to shave .7 off quarter mile time.. I could get one fairly cheap,.. also is it a direct drop in? or do I need different axles and shit....

i don't know about .7 of a second. it's more fun to drive but horrible gas mileage. it's a direct drop in except your speedometer might be off by a few

Would a non-LSD do a big difference or should I hold out and get one with an LSD ? I'm only running the stock f23,.. maybe boost in the future but not for next year or two...

You might be able to swap out the H22 5th gear with the F22. A lot of guys put LS 5th gears in when they put 4.9 or 5.01 final drive's in their Type R trannies. Makes it more drivable on the highway.

why would yo do that you'd need the 5th gear for the quarter mile with such a low redline liek the f22 and f23

yea that would defeat the purpose of the swap in our case

$1300 for a tranny

when i was shopping for imported H22's w/LSD the standard price was $2200. and that at least came with a motor and other essentials.

yeah, I know,.. I thought about this driving on the highway today... going 70 mph it was revving at 2900rpm... it would be that much of a difference...
