is this worth it?
wussup everyone. its my first time posting. anyways, my friend is selling me a 97 2.2 cl 5 speed manual with 91xxx miles on it. it has the following: greddy evo catback, aem air intake, new alpine deck, neuspeed short shifter and a bunch of other little stuff... overall, i think the car is pretty tricked out. i was wondering the car is worth 9500 and if not, how much would you pay for it? thanks for the help

i'd pay 8K
I've seen 97 and 98 3.0's w/ that many miles selling for less then 9500$.
These cars have not held their value well!

you have to remember, when you sell a car w/ mods the mods lose about 80% of their value.

Mods don't really increase the value of the car so much. In some cases it can actually reduce the value. Since it's your friend, I would look at the value of the car on edmunds or kbb and then add about half the cost of the mods, say somwhere around $500. If it was someone you didn't know, I wouldn't even consider the mods in the price.

it's just that everything before the 6 speed was crap motor wise and tranny wise.
Why do you want an nsx? They are gonna be expensive to mod, you'd be much better of w/ an rx7 or a supra.

274hp stock. . . . i'll throw on a intake, headers, and exhaust. there you go 300 hp. then go for body mods, seats, and other stuff. . . say you were a chick. . . there's a guy with a cl or a guy with a nsx. each guy is equal in looks. who do you go with?
NSX = chick magnet. labeled as an exotic
rx7= new engine every 45,000 miles. I don't know a damn thing about rotory
Supra= everyone and their mom has one. Played.

Thats cause the NSX is fucken expensive for what you get. Its still a NA 6. Plus the whole body is aluminum...aka you get hit, your wallet gets fucked. Plus, its not a practical car by any means. Atleast the supra has 4 seats (technically) plus a real trunk.

my boy has an NSX and got in a fender bender, there was like no damage at all and it cost close to 10K to fix!
plus parts are fucking expensive for those things. I'm sorry, i've driven an NSX and just wasn't impressed. I'd much rather have a fixed up supra or rx-7, plus you'd spend about a 1/3 to get those cars to 500 HP as it'd cost you to get an nsx there.

Team Blurry, have you driven one yet? Drive a 96 and a 91 and see what you think. I'm not trying to put you down, I just think there rae alot better deals out there for you, but then again 91-92's are selling for high 20's.

Hell, I know its American...
but I would buy a 98-02 TransAM WS6. Its a 5.7L, and with just a few grand in work, you instanly have a few hundred extra HP... on top of the 315HP it already has!
Plus it had the meanest sounding exhaust (with new aftermarket cams, exhaust) that ive ever heard other than a Vette (same LS1 engine) or a Viper.
Plus I can pick up one thats newer, and has less miles for less than what my car is worth if I shop around a bit.
Dont tell me a Black WS6 with T-tops, stock chrome 17s, 275s, huge ram-air hood isnt sexy
I know, i know... its a sacrelidge to the import gods ... but its a tempting offer and i want to get one soon
Meanest sounding/looking/performing for the money
...oh btw i dont need a NSX to get the girls. i could have a 87 camry and still get them hahah

some girls like speed.. . .i just always wanted one. . . i think i'll buy one just to retire out of my, " i have turbo so i'm a racer" stage. i'm getting tired of angling in/out of driveways, watching out for pot holes, and getting scared everytime i pass a cop to see if he pulls me over to pop my hood. i'm so not carb legal right now it's not funny. the more i fixed my car, the more stressful it becomes to drive it.
i know i'm not going to keep the nsx stock, but i just want a fast car that's street legal. i'm just going to do some body and interior mods, but i want to pass smog and not have to worry about giving people 150 to pass me.

NSX's prices have fallen to the floor, my boy just got a 96 w/ 30,000 miles for 34K!
I've seen earlier ones for low-mid 20's!
