------------------------------------------------------------------
1. take the parts out. (read the DIY forum, and be careful)
2. sand w/ 100grit (100+ will be fine)
3. prime it (don't buy cheap stuff)
4. paint it (same here)
5. put 'em back. (be careful)
finally look

If you're using automotive paint with a spray gun, sand with 320 or finer. 400-perfect. And make sure you sand everything - all the way to the edges.
I used a plastic adhesion promoter, mainly as a force of habit, but probably overkill in an interior plastic part aplication.
Mines done in base/clear.
Nippon- What kind of paint did you use? Single-stage? In a spray-can? Have any close-up pics?
i have a question, this thread makes me want to do this lol. what kind of primer and paint and shit cuz i was thinking maybe if i could, get some touch-up primrose from acura or something and see if thatd work. or maybe silver would just be better cuz your is primrose and thats looks nice.

Silver, are you talking about your interior? I haven't painted my interior yet, I was talking about using the paint to fix my bumper. But it's the same oem paint.

Ok, I used 800 Grit, per the instructions on the can. I used 3M 800 grit dry/wet. MAKE SURE you wetsand, get a spray bottle full of water, and spray the whole time u sand, you will want a sanding block, doing it by hand is a pain, and can cause scratches. I wet sanded down, used 3 light coats of plastikote black primer ( i have a black car) then sprayed 3-4 coats of paint, then 3 coats of clear. Be careful with the clear, it can get bumpy if your paint isn't smooth underneath. Make sure that you leave room around your sanded area, to blend, or it will be real screwed up. Mine came out looking just about perfect. Need to wetsand my clear coat and reapply that, cuz I'm picky. But from upclose or far away it looks good. I'm just picky.

Yeah, I did light coats of paint, VERY light coats of primer, cuz it's thick and can actually elevate your paint, taht's why i was specifiying the difference. 3 medium coats is good, my 4th coat was light, and blending mostly. As for sanding, what are you trying to repair? And are you blending? I had to sand to the fiberglass to fix some surface scratches. How much u sand depends on the amount of painting you're doin
