Wings West Can Suck it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was looking though a web site that carried wings west ground effect kits and I saw that they have kits for TL's, RL's, and F**KING TERCEL's. Who in there right god damn mind would put a kit on a tercel? Are people that retarded? I know there are couple of people here with either TL's or RL's that would buy the kit and put it on. Nothing wrong with that but lets face it that is a small percentage compare to the rest of the country. Like an 85 year old grandpa is going to get a body get for his TL, come on! All I want is a nice looking kit for the damn CL! The air damn is nice and its a start, but come on they could give use CL's a little more. If they have a complete kit for damn Tercel I think that they should make one for a CL!

I am sorry guys but I Am just sick and tried of companies making aftermarket parts for the dumbest cars, like the Tercel, and not making sh*t for the CL. Say that its not profitable to make parts for CL's. Well, how the hell do they make money off of parts for Tercel's. Oh ya Neons are another retard car, just thought I would add that one.

I'd have to agree about the neons lookin pretty retarded. When I was at the beach, a little crew of pimped out neons drove by me. They had altezza lights, body kits, etc.. I couldn't help but to laugh at them (Not b/c they drive neons, but because they try to pimp them out)

So why is it okay to "pimp out" a CL and not a Neon or Tercel? I'm sure the guy in the dropped Navigator or guido-ized CLK is thinking the same about you in your gussied-up CL. Whenever I see somebody with a riced-out car (it doesn't matter what make), I can't help but think how if they had just dumped all that mod money into a nicer car to begin with, they'd be a lot better off.

Let's at least TRY to be a little more tolerant...

Well, like I said before, its not the fact that they drive neons, but the fact that they are ugly-ass cars. I'm not trying to pull any "i'm better than you" crap here, cause I grew up in a ghetto neighborhood and I know what it feels like.

THE TRUTH IS THE MORONS PUTTING KITS ON TERCELS AND NEONS ARENT REALLY THE MORONS IF YOU THINK ABOUT IT. EVEN THOUGH I AGREE ABOUT NEONS, I SAY TO EACH HIS OWN. THEY ARE DOING EXACTLY WHAT WE WANT TO DO, BUT CANT. AND THAT IS MODDING THEM OUT. WE WOULD IF WE COULD, SO THE REAL MORONS MAY BE US, OR THE MANUFACTURERS THAT ARE LOSING MONEY BY NOT MAKING STUFF FOR US. WHO'S TO SAY?

TO EACH HIS OWN

well, if you all rember the post of Acuras target for CLs... It was said to be for mid-20 early 30 yr olds... but as we all know, its not really, or at least wasnt.. It was more old foggies... now there are these young gear heads(US) and we want parts.... its just a matter of time before they see it would be wise to make $hit ASAP for a CL... they just must see how large a group has CLs that want parts.. thats all... all marketing strategies boys, i should know... Im an unemployed marketing graduate!!!

Iceman, NOT all of us can afford a BMW roadster! I am 21 and in College my CL was my moms and she gave it to me for college. I am not trying to start a fight, but my point was that how can a company sit there and make parts for worthless cars like the tercel and neons and then turn around and say that they would lose money on CL parts. More power to the people that want to trick out a neon or tercel. At least the CL is a good looking sports car.

Agreed. I think our positions aren't that far apart, actually. But I do see how WW can say they make money on Tercels and Neons but wouldn't on CLs. Just look at how many Neons and Tercels are on the road compared to the number of CLs.

Yes, we in the forum love that first gen car, but it wasn't exactly a sales success story for Acura. Even if only 10% of people modify their cars, that adds up to a lot more Neon and Tercel kits than CL ones.

Maybe someone here at the site who feels strongly that WW is wrong should put together a list of all the people here who say they would buy a full kit if it was available and send that to them. See what happens--maybe they will realize there's more of a demand than they thought.

It amazes me that I'm moving to another car that is so hard to find stuff for, but oh well. I have a Honda del Sol and that seems to be the Honda that everyone forgot. Not sure why since it is a two seater, removable top and the first with the 160 HP VTEC engine. It kills me when I see them for Tercels or Neons (although the Neon kits do sell well).

Anyways, it's all about making money for these companies. I have a business that (in part) can make custom stuff for cars. We've done a subwoofer enclosure for behiond the seats and are going to hit the kits and wings soon. In order to make the invested money back, I have to have sales lined up (or at least a strong interest).

For about $3000, I can get a full kit made. That's molds and everything needed to crank them out. That's money out of my pocket that I'm hoping I can make back and eventually turn a profit on. The problem is that let's say I make $100 -$200 profit a kit. I have to sell 15-30 kits to just break even. Since there aren't even 30 people here with CLs (and most wouldn't buy a kit even if they existed), I'd be losing money or it would take years to make my money back.

I'd have to agree with that. I would really like a full body kit for my car, but there is honestly not enough demand. If you think about it, any CL enthusiast would have found this board by now. So lets assume that most of us enthusiasts post messages here. There are only about 15-20 people at most that actively post here. Even if all of the savvy enthusiasts decided to get the body kit, WW would sell like 20 of them. That is definitely not good enough to start a kit. I know it sucks, but thats the way it is.

True I could do that. But WW isn't the only company that does this. Their are many others that dont make parts specifically for the CL, such as AEM, Neuspeed, etc. Even though we do share a lot of similar parts with the Accords, I still think that they so make them specially for the CL. I know a lot have people have the AEM CAI and it fits but not perfectly. How much would it really cost to make it fit perfectly. The reason I singled WW out was because that is because I was looking at some of their products at the time.

It's just the evils of owning a car that is not one of the popular models (Civic, Integra, Eclipse, etc). I went through this with del Sols the last three years and here I am again with my next car. It sucks.

A good thing to do is let these companies/manufacturers know that you are interested (if you seriously are). If they suddenly get a lot of calls from a particular model car owner, they will take note. I kinda got that worked out with Kaminari for their del Sol kit about three years ago and got them to make changes to that design more recently. I got the white face gauges done for the VTEC model Sol much the same way. They need to hear that if they spend all the time and money they will get somethig in return (money). If everyone sits on these boards and never calls the, then they don't know there is interest.

well guys here is the one perk of having a car that is not so popular...
UNIQUENESS
if you want to do something, you have to be vraetive and handy and if your not, you gotta know someone who is capable of taking and idea and making it happen... If you want a kit, buy one and make it fi\t.. garaunteed youd be the only one like that even if the same kit was used on another car... well thats all i gotta say... be different, be creative.. BE UNIQUE!!!!

I say Casper is 100% correct. But it would be nice to have parts for our car.

thanks for agreeing.... and yes it would be nice to be able to buy and bolt on parts.. but it does take away from the pride of a Do-It-Yourselfer....

You have all made valid points. It would be great if some company's would take interest in the cL. At least some kits or aftermarket upgrades. I think that we should all email companies showing interest in products for our cars. Like AEM for example, They couldn't make that tiny adjustment to make their CAI fit correctly on our cars! Come ON!!! I mean there was a rumor that the Comptech SC won't fit our cars. More and more people are getting cL's. I'd like to be able to go to HKS or Apex-i and get a coilover kit that was made for the cL. Not an AC kit with incorrect spring rates. We need to wite/email companies showing our interest for products to be made for our cars.!!
