Hey guys I was driving home last night from LA/San Diego area from a trip and I stopped at a store, when I got out and shut the door i heard a not like a bang but something dropped and dropped hard, well i come back and I hope back into the car and try to roll up the window and it wont go.......AAAAAARRRRRGGGGGG!!!!!!!!! I was pissed well I got to a motel and luckily i had my tools in the trunk, I took off the door panel to examine to window and I couldnt tell anything, all I saw was a steel braided wire loose and i dont think my window motor works at all for that matter, I dont know why it dropped on me, I lube up that window once every month to make sure it runs smooth and now this. Well to top it off I got the door panel off but then after I was done and went to go put back on the panel I could not get it back on if my life depended on it. So I work with it a bit and then to top it all off the chrome piece that is next to the window on the panel starts to loosen and come off, so i have to rig it and put it back to normal, and then the sprinkles cam on and wet the shit out of me and my car, but I got out in time, then Igo to put it on this morning and goes on like a shoe :angry: why in the hell wouldnt you fucking go on last night!!!

Well I would like to know if anyone has had this happen before where the window just drops down and wont roll up, i thought it fell off the track but it looks like its still on the track, so I dont know, someone help me and let me know what I should do and if I need to replace the window motor how much and where can i get it at, i know acuraautomotiveparts.net but can i do it myself or should i take it to the dealer?

you need to get a new window regulator. the same exact thing just barely happened to me. depending on the damage to the insides of the door it will run u about 200$+

rick, have you done this before? how hard is it to do? can you do it yourself? what do i need to take off? the door panel is a being a bitch right now

75 bucks isnt bad, have you bought from them before? and i would need te 97 accord LH driver side one right?

i wonder what happened to it, it just fell on me

how can yo ube driving home from the LA/ San Diego area??? they are 110 miles apart lol. Luckily your window didn't crack or anything. Good luck with figuring that one out.

I had one break on me for no apparent reason. I've not replaced one of these myself (all 4 of mine were covered under warranty and done by the dealer).

There are several threads about peeps who have done it themselves. I can't imagine that it's that hard.

It's not hard at all. Just take the door off and there's 3 bolts holding the motor and 4 bolts holding the regulator. 2 more bolts hold the window to the regulator. All you need is a wratchet and some sockets. It takes about an hour.

Buy your regulator from 1A Auto. They offer a lifetime gurantee. They already replaced one of mine and about to replace a second.
