...ya' about that... heard this god awful "grinding" sound when I put the car in Reverse today. I'm hoping that when I take it in to the mechanic, perhaps he can just fix the "reverse" gear and leave everything else alone. Is that even possible? or is it the whole ball of wax, or nothing?

Can someone throw out a price on how much a re-built tranny would cost. If anybody is from Toronto and actually has a mechanic they can recommend, It would be most appreciated.
