Who has an extended warranty?
Just wondering how many 1st gen owners have an extended warranty, and if so, what kind and why/why not?
I didn't get one because I figured that a worst-case scenario problem would be the transmission, and considering that a good warranty where I bought my car (Carmax) would have been almost 2g, thats almost the price of a tranny fix. Plus, having a 2.3 auto I'm not expecting transmission issues, esp. given that my car is bone stock and I'm not hard on her. Plus...Honda's are still much more reliable than most other cars out there (Toyota & Nissan- esp. Toyota/Lexus may have an edge as of recent though, mainly due to trans issues).

i've got one, and still have a good amount left on it....with that said, i've had them shell out only about 400 worth of work, so lucky me...but with the tranny's, dont be so confident, quite a few have had to change them out, and no one certain model is exempt...so hopefully there is no major repairs in the future!
but i did get it as a piece of mind type of deal, cause i dont make jack for money being in the military, so i needed some type of fallback, but thats my case. oh yeah, and that 2k on the warranty would have been factored in your total price. so if your tranny goes, and no warranty, they want the money IMMEDIATELY after repair, so i hope you are saving that money you would have spent on the warranty!, you might need it
