Ok, so i was driving my car and this whine from the engine developed.

it sounds soft, but kinda high pitched, as the engine accelerates the whine gets louder, after 3500 rpm's i cant hear it

any ideas?

someone i was with noticed that in neutral, if i revved it just a bit, the dash lights got noticeably brighter, could this possibly have something to do with alternator?

 

is it your comptech supercharger?

ummm...well i'm not sure if you hear what i hear, but I know with me, itz my CAI that makes that sound when I step on the gas roughly 65% down. you have a CAI?

 

well, i guess mine is more of a whistle than a whine....mmm....could be the same thing depending on how you interpret the sound....

 

its a bad ground
makes the little whining sound right?
i have it too, someone told me to reground all my aftermarket stuff but I been too lazy to and it just went away by itself lol

 

it's your alternator did exact same thing to mine before my alternator died abruptly on a date....


go to the napa store online....get a refurbished lifetime warrantied alternator for 140 bucks.......good to go!

im stock btw, nothing changed, and it sounds like a supercharger, i think you nailed the problem, shall be calling acura up

also my oil pressure light went on (blinking) while driving. turned it off, and back on and it went away

 

if you got a system, maybe an amp, etc. its probably coming from that

 

i dont have a system, and now my srs light came on

 

lol definatley sounds like alt...it fuks with everythign electrical

 

dont go to acura youre gonna spend 500 bucks. and they dont give you a lifetime warranty like napa does

 

what is napa's site, i am having problems, can i get the alternator from napa and then have acura install it?

 

you can install it, its simple as hell....

but yea it is def. the alternator.

anyone know why our cars eat alternators so fast?
