I believe the way a wheel place will take them off is like this....
They take an impact socket that's a bit smaller that the diameter of the lock. Then they pound it on over the wheel lock. I mean pound it!! Then they use the impact gun to loosen it.
They don't have to trip on busting a socket or whatever. The tool trucks (MAC, Snap On, etc..) will replace it.
My bro use to do that when people lost their key too.
